New P-Series Offers Unique Features and Benefits
Monday, May 08, 2006
Suwanee, Ga. -
Mitsubishi Electric HVAC Advanced Products Division, Suwanee, Ga.,
has unveiled its new Mr. Slim® P-Series line of
cooling-only and heat pump systems for the commercial and large
residential markets, with a range of 6,000 to 45,000 Btu/h, the
units are 13+ SEER and use R410A refrigerant, according to Chuck
Applebee, product manager.
"Mitsubishi Electric's industry-leading, variable-speed technology
in the P-Series inverter-driven compressor creates a consistent
indoor climate, and its slow running speed allows energy to be used
more effectively," says Applebee. "As a result, end users will be
able to shave dollars off their utility bills without having to
sacrifice comfort."
The P-Series inverter-driven compressor provides several
cost-saving benefits. Due to accelerated cooling and heating
performance, the temperature set-point can be reached quicker.
Because of the inverter's variable-speed performance, a comfortable
indoor climate can be maintained through smooth, modulated
frequency. Finally, thanks to a ramping start-up, in rush and power
spikes are eliminated and with a long, slow running speed, energy
is used more effectively.
There are a variety of indoor units to meet the consumer's needs
and the same indoor units are used with different outdoor units for
heat pump and air-conditioning systems for easier planning and
system configuration.
The design of the P-Series provides reduced outdoor unit sound
level by four to eight dB(A). The units are smaller thanks to R410A
and inverter technology, and use smaller refrigerant line
diameters. Additionally, a new anti-corrosion model is available
for coastal applications, providing protection in seacoast
environments and a longer life span of the unit. The P-Series also
offers faster and easier service with the PAR-21MAA remote
controller. The controller displays fault codes for both indoor and
outdoor units, and if programmed, the phone number of the service
contractor and critical unit operating data for the service
technician also is displayed.
"The new P-Series incorporates many of the suggestions that our
customers have made to us over the years," says Applebee. "Each
unit is designed to be installed and operated as easily as
possible, with features that benefit both contractors and end
users."
The low-ambient operation of the P-Series also meets requirements
for year-round cooling in applications such as telecomm rooms and
computer centers and allows inverter models to perform well in
cooling mode even when the outdoor temperature is as low as zero
degrees Fahrenheit.
The new P-Series features optional control interfaces that allow
the system to tie into the Mitsubishi Electric CITY MULTI Controls
Network (CMCN), providing a centralized control building comfort
solution. It also interfaces with the Lossnay PZ-41SLB-E controller
for increased ventilation control. For more information on the
