Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating Sponsors Champions TOUR Golfer Fred Funk

SUWANEE, Ga., April 13, 2011 - Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating, America's number one selling brand of ductless cooling and heating systems, announces its sponsorship of Champions TOUR golfer Fred Funk.

Funk is a top 10 competitor on the Champions TOUR and participates in select PGA TOUR tournaments during the year. He is a winner of eight PGA TOUR events, including the 2005 Players Championship and six Champion TOUR wins, which include three majors.

As part of Fred's sponsorship his golf bag will carry the Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating logo as well as his right shirt collar. This presence will help Mitsubishi Electric raise awareness of their cooling and heating products among target customers.

In 2007, Mitsubishi Electric became a PGA TOUR sponsor and in 2009, became the title sponsor for the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai, which Funk won in 2008. Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating will be sponsoring Funk from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2012.

Funk has been a professional golfer since 1981, joining the PGA TOUR in 1989. He currently resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida with his wife Sharon and their three children Eric, Taylor and Perri.
